Chapters in several areas throughout the country recognized early on the importance of mentoring young women in the community. The first Zeta group, for high school girls, was nationally organized in the late 1950s. Since then, Zeta Phi Beta has developed a comprehensive youth program for girls ages 4-18.
The Zeta Youth Clubs are auxiliaries of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for young girls and teens between the ages of four (4) and eighteen (18). The Sorority’s objectives for youth groups are to develop leadership skills, foster cultural experiences, social interactions, and educational growth. As a part of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated’s continued efforts to be a positive light for young ladies who are interested and enthusiastic about
the ideals of scholarship, sisterly love, community service, elegance, building leadership skills, and developing self-worth, we offer three auxiliary groups. The Pearlettes (ages 4-8), Amicettes (ages 9-13), and Archonettes (ages 14-18) offer a space for girls to begin making an impact on the world at almost any age.
Auxiliaries Mission
The Mission of the Youth Affiliates of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is to provide a carefully designed program of activities that will enhance youth affiliate members through mind, body, and spirit as they work within their various communities to help others.
PEARLETTES
Pearlettes are girls ages 4-8 years old who are mentored by ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to become outstanding leaders in their community. The purpose of the Pearlette program is to teach young girls the importance of serving their community, developing high academic and personal standards. The Pearlettes were adopted by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. as a National Youth Auxiliary during the 1994 International Conference in Orlando, Florida.
AMICETTES
Amicettes are girls 9 to 13 years of age who are willing to strive toward the high ideals of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and who demonstrate potential for leadership in service to the community. Amicettes are affiliated through local chapters.
ARCHONETTES
Archonettes are high school-aged young ladies who demonstrate an interest in the goals and the ideals of scholarship, sisterly love, and community service. Archonette groups are affiliated through local chapters. Archonettes may be family members ofZetas or girls in the community who have the willingness to be guided in the direction of sisterhood and self-preservation. Members of the sorority assist the youth auxiliaries in fundraising and community projects.
